Mr Dan Galligan retires after 26 years.

Mr. Dan Galligan retired today, after 26 years of loyal and faithful service in the front office and shop at the Redemptorist Monastery, Mount St. Alphonsus, Limerick.  Fr. Peter Byrne is the only redemptorist, currently in the community, who has been at the monastery longer than Dan! He has seen many rectors, prefects, priests and brothers come and go during the course of his employment there. Dan’s welcoming smile and personality will be known to countless numbers of people who’ve ever had reason to call to the monastery.  We thank Dan for his service and friendship, and wish him, and his wife, Deirdre, much happiness in the years ahead.

Eucharistic Adoration

As part of the celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi, and as part of the Celebration of the Year of Faith, Pope Francis has requested that the faithful might join in in an hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament this Sunday, June 2nd.

So at the same time as Pope Francis is doing that in St. Peter’s in Rome, we will have an hour of Exposition, ending with Benediction, from 4pm to 5pm, here at Mount St. Alphonsus this Sunday, June 2nd.  All are welcome to join us for all, or part of, that hour.

Feast day of St. Clement Mary Hofbauer, C.Ss.R.

Today is the Feastday of St. Clement Mary Hofbauer, the Redemptorist responsible for bringing the Redemptorist Order and charism out of Italy, into the rest of Europe and the World. Without him there would be no Redemptorists in Limerick! St. Clement’s College in Limerick is named after him so blessings, and happy feastday, to all pupils, past pupils and staff there.
