Mount St. Alphonsus Church – 150 Years Old in December, 2012.

The Redemptorist Church at Mount St. Alphonsus, Limerick was 150 years old in December, 2012.  Opened and dedicated in December, 1862 it has been part of the fabric of life in Limerick ever since.  Recently, extensively, restored, it is also one of the most beautiful churches in Ireland.  A new book , written by Fr. Brendan McConvery, C.Ss.R., and beautiful illustrated, tells the fascinating story of the building of this church and how it evolved over the last 150 years. It’s available at the Monastery Shop at Mount St. Alphonsus, South Circular Road, Limerick for €5.
